That's the funniest scary adventure story I've ever heard. Well done! You could make a movie about it but noone would believe it!

I think I'll start my walk from Lake Conroe to Mazatlan now. Hopefully I'll make it before my return trip to Commedero in Jan 2009.

Larry, Thanks for the comment. Most pilots watch the weight pretty close and most all planes will fly just fine on one engine. I bought a new Navaho in 1977 and we lost an engine comming out of Cd Victoria but flew it out to Mc Allen for repairs.
I think you should remember Bill Hodge and Sportsman Air Travel. Bubba Wood I think was the one who told me that DW&W used him for their canada trips. If you dont remember him be sure and read the final chapter next week.

I dont think I need the government forcing me to wear a life jacket or seat belts. They can inform me of the benefits, but leave the final dicision to me. I do wear both because its makes good sense.. There are plenty other things for the government to be doing, like stopping the thieves.. thanks for your time Tony Brown W Helena Arkansas

We lost an engine going to Los Moches but made it back to Chiuaua (Cessna 402)
Also lost one going to God's Lake on a DC-3 and landed in the boonies on a gravel strech. Smooth as silk and a fishing hole next to the strip full of Northerns.

Brad, good question. If you are fishing small size fish you need to down size your tackle. For pan fish I use 4 lb line, a small spinning reel, and a very flexible rod. I want to see a crappie bend the rod. If I am fishing artificial lures I use extremely small baits like 1/32oz jigs and a very small roadrunner for bream & crappie.

Ron, I was intrigued by your comment that "Every species of fish is a challenge and can be very sporting if you match your equipment to the fish." I'm just an occasional fisherman, so I hope you can elaborate on that sometime.
