Summer 2026 Brazil/Mexico Update

MEXICO…ONE LAKE IS FULL, ANOTHER IS ON THE WAY TO BEING FULL!!!
Water is currently going over the dam at Picachos
Just a quick update here to let everyone know that the annual monsoon season is in full swing!!!
At the time of this writing, Lake Picachos is full with water flowing over the dam. It’s been that way for almost a month now. Lake El Salto is approaching capacity; as of this writing, the lake is around 70% full. If it doesn’t catch another drop of rain, that 70% will be more than good enough for my liking! That said, this is “El Nino” year and I suspect we’re going to see A LOT MORE rain before the end of monsoon season (ending around September)—and possibly carrying over into our fall fishing season! Normally during El Nino years, we experience colder winters than most other winter seasons. All the more reason to book your trip now for the upcoming season and escape Old Man Winter for 4 or 5 days!
Lastly, keep in mind that the bass in these two lakes haven’t seen many hooks “in a long while” and especially at Lake El Salto! As I stated in my last update, this could mean bass fishing on steroids! This is shaping up to be the year you don’t want to miss!!! I can’t wait!
